The Solar Regulator / Charge Controller is connected to the solar panel, the battery and the load. Its purpose is to help maintain battery condition and it does this in a number of ways.
1) Prevents battery damage from over charging cutting the supply when full charge is reached
2) Stops the battery being damaged by over discharging, the primary cause of battery failure
3) Halts the flow of power back from the battery to the solar panel during the night
CPU controlled unit with LCD display gives ultimate protection to the solar panel and battery against short circuit, overload and lightning strike as well as all usual charge controller attributes. LCD display also gives information on system temperature, charging and discharging current in Ah and battery capacitance. This is essential if the battery is your only source of power in remote locations. The unit is CE marked and constructed toISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard.
