This is one of our latest products! vertical axis wind turbines have many improved design features over there horizontal counterparts. these include.
- They are much quieter when in operation.
- They can utilise wind from multiple directions without having to search for the best source (unlike a horizontal axis wind turbine which is furled into the strongest wind source)
- They can use turbulent wind more effectively (turbulance may be caused by land formations, buildings, trees etc.)
- Because of the above features vertical axis wind turbine generally start to operate at lower wind speeds.
This specific turbine features complex aerodynamic design which limits the maximum speed of this turbine, thus removing the need for complex braking systems.
Tested to 100mph! this turbine is designed to with stand the rigours that nature has to offer.
The diameter of the blades is 148cm and the height is 240cm this means that the total height of the turbine when installed on a mast is in excess of 8m.
The height of any turbine installation is very site specific and in general no two installations are the same.
